KKCC Thanks Sponsors, Contributors for Assisting Bid for Hawai‘i

Posted in January 2017

The final tally is in for the 8th annual Bid for Hawai‘i online auction hosted by the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce. A total $11,432 was raised for Chamber programs and services, in addition to keeping the cost of membership low. The success of the auction lies totally in the support received from the West Hawai‘i community, sponsors and businesses who contributed—plus those who bid on the items.

The auction is designed to support not only the Chamber, but also works to promote the Big Island community. Here are some statistics worthy of note:

A total of 243 bids were placed with 49 items sold.

Seven email blasts were issued to a list of 2,526 people for a total of 17,101 emails.

Winning bidders hailed from Washington, Oregon, New York, Mississippi, California, Massachusetts, British Columbia, Canada, Virginia and New Jersey, as well as O‘ahu and Hawai‘i Island. Bids from across the nation reveal the increasing value of the BiddingForGood network and the market share it brings to the auction.

Accommodations brought in the highest amount of revenue followed by activities and golf.. Dining came in a close fourth. All winning mainland bidders purchased hotel, activity or dining items.

Mahalo to all businesses who showcased products or services in the auction, as well as those who supported the auction via bidding. The Chamber sincerely appreciates the support of the Bid for Hawai‘I sponsors: Maleko Built and Pacific Waste.
