kirstinnaleo-teaserHappy New Year Chamber ʻOhana!

As we leave 2016 behind us, we can only look forward, beyond the horizon, to the exciting new opportunities that await us. There is a sense of uncertainty in the air with our changing leadership at the local and federal levels of our government.

But there is a stronger feeling of hope, especially with the re-establishment of the Federal Inspection Station (FIS) at Kona International Airport that welcomed the arrival of the first of many flights from Japan and the groundbreaking of the State Judiciary Building. These instances signal positive economic growth for our community. The Judiciary is spending $90 million to construct their new building, and Hawaiian Air created 34 new jobs at Kona International Airport to support their new direct service to Japan. A strengthening economy is good for business and for families that are working hard to provide for their keiki.

To continue to make an impact on behalf of businesses in our community, we need to work together. It took a collective voice for the FIS at the airport and for the judiciary building to come to fruition. As our legislative session begins on January 18th, please stand with the Chamber on behalf of our businesses and families in our community!

Me ka Manaʻolana,

Kirstin Kahaloa
