The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce would like to wish our members and the community all the best this holiday season.
According to the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism’sOutlook for the Economy 4th Quarter 2017 Report, “Hawaiʻi’s economy is expected to continue positive growth for 2017 and 2018. This outlook is based on the most recent developments in the national and global economies, the performance of Hawaiʻi’s tourism industry, labor market conditions, and the growth of personal income and tax revenues.” As measured by gross domestic product (GDP), Hawaiʻi’s overall economy is projected to be up by 1.7 percent in 2017 and 1.5 percent in 2018.
With an improved economy, we believe this holiday season will create a prosperous business environment as well as a time for generous giving. We encourage our members to look through our member directory for a list of worthwhile organizations that support important community needs – especially this time of year.
Each year at our holiday AfterHours event, we ask that attendees bring a child’s gift to donate to Family Support Hawaiʻi in lieu of paying an entry fee. Please join us at Big Island Collision Center (BICC) on December 13th from 5-7 p.m. for this special holiday gathering hosted by BICC, Mason Termite & Pest Control, and Dickinson General Contracting. Please register online at www.kona-kohala.com or call the office directly at 329-1758.
We would also like to thank our members and the community who have donated to our holiday fundraiser – Bid for Hawaiʻi. With close to 100 donated items, this online auction is the perfect place to do your holiday shopping. This auction will go live on Wednesday, December 13th at our holiday AfterHours event.

Happy Holidays from the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce.
