The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce (KKCC) exists to provide leadership and advocacy for a successful business environment in West Hawaiʻi.
To create that successful business environment, we provide a number of services for our 500 members including networking opportunities. This includes our monthly event called AfterHours where members and prospective members can come together face-to-face and get to know one another. This is a wonderful way to learn about a variety of businesses in this community while meeting the people who own, manage, or are employed by these companies.
For many of our members, this is a very important service that we provide. However, there are many other services beyond this. For example, membership includes a listing in our directory both on our website and in the annual Chamber business magazine and directory called The Source. Members can submit posts for the Chamberʻs online calendar or articles for the Member Spotlight in our monthly newsletter. There are exclusive advertising opportunities, sponsorships, and more. So, beyond our monthly get together, Chamber members can still promote and network without leaving the office!
Beyond services to enhance member promotion, the Chamber is also a venue for the business community to address issues and concerns that may affect your business and our local economy. The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce is a member organization and members are welcome to come to committee meetings to introduce their ideas. Meetings are held at the Chamber office, but we have a conference call feature so many members contribute without leaving their place of business. Through this vehicle, members create a consenus on what is important to them. Through collective wisdom, Chamber initiatives are formed and action implemented. As a Chamber of Commerce we can take a position and represent business interests in government.
So, whatʻs the best kept secret? Your Chamber membership is working for you just because you are a member! Yes, we would like you to attend an AfterHours, participate in the annual Golf Tournament, or join a committee, but if your business can’t commit at this level we understand. We still want you to be members! Your membership helps to support our organization that collectively works to strengthen our economy, promote community, and enhance our quality life in West Hawaiʻi.
