Chamber Welcomes New Members at AfterHours

James Hussey, Jr. of American Legion Kona Post 20 said the Kona branch of the national veteran organization was formed in 1939. The Kona Post and American Legion Auxiliary members meet at the Kailua-Kona Elks Lodge 4 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month.
Hussey explained the post’s purpose is “to give back to the local veterans and their families.”
Kona Post 20 awards local ROTC scholarships, does educational school programs and provides honor guards for funerals. For info, phone 808-464-4341.
