The first new members introduced at this event were Dawn and John Johansen with Cruiseplanners Ready To Go Vacations, a travel agency. It specializes in helping people plan their best vacation for their budget, with customized service. One of the services offered is extra help when emergencies occur, such as, they were able to get clients out of the recent hurricanes in the Caribbean.
Another new member is Michael McCray with Hawaii HomeOwnership Center. HHOC has helped more than 3300 families with home buying education; 1800 with actual home buying; and 50% of those are considered low-income buyers. Many are 35-and-under, and first time homebuyers.
The final new members introduced were Kris Speegle and Celena Mateaki, from Allstate Speegle Insurance. Speegle has been an Allstate agent for 14 years. The past five have been in Hilo, and he recently purchased Steve Budar’s office in Kona, when Budar retired. Mateaki will be running the Kona office, along with Budar’s capable staff.
